Satan tempted Eve by pointing out that she would be just like God if she ate the fruit from that tree. When Eve took that first bite and ate from the tree, she also gave some to Adam who also ate. And in doing this, they disobeyed God.
In spite of their sin, God loved Adam and Eve so much that he promised a Savior when He cursed Satan. “I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between her offspring and your offspring; he shall bruise your head and you shall bruise his heal,”
Adam and Eve were encouraged by God’s promise knowing that though they had sinned God still loved them.
