With the Ten Commandments, God’s righteousness is revealed—that He is holy, perfect, the only God in whom we are to fear, love, and trust above all things. As these commandments show God’s righteousness, they show God’s people what being His people looks like. He tells us what to do and what not to do as His people.
“I am the Lord your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.”
Exodus 20:1
